Fashion and art will be on the menu when Everglades Historic House and Garden holds a Faux Fur Luncheon to celebrate their winter exhibition, Wunderkammer. Wunderkammer is an exhibition showcasing the ethically-sourced taxidermied works of artist Rod McRae at the Leura landmark from June 10 to August 27.
Each work explores an animal “issue” using real preserved animal bodies to tell their stories including trophy hunting, displacement, poisoning. Each touches on a different aspect of the human-animal relationship including biodiversity, pollution, climate change, conservation and stewardship. Each work asks the viewer to examine their responsibilities as fellow travellers on this planet. No animal was harmed to make the artwork.
Time: 12.30am. Bookings required and tickets include three course luncheon, entry to exhibition and floor talk by Rod McRae.
